The Siata Project

Steve McQueen’s Siata

Is Original Again As - Larry Frye’s

1953- Siata 208 S Spyder

The 1953 Siata 208S you see above is one of thirty-five ever created.  Its first owner was Steve McQueen.  I did a full body restoration on it in 1992, when Larry Frye owned it.

It was entered in the Pebble Beach Concours d’ Elegance, 1993 in the N-1 Class, Italian Custom Coachwork 1952-1958.

The Grille was not useable so I fabricated a new grille.

Someone had flared all of the wheel openings, trying to make it into a Cobra look-a-like, with a 289 and mag wheels.

I cut the quarter panels and front fenders and re-fabricated everything to bring it back to original.

All new wheel-openings brought this car back to its former beauty.
